This month has been quieter than previous years and we have had to work very hard in the office to get the jobs booked in. It has just been a case of making contact with old clients and asking them if they would like to benefit from the special offers we have had on. So in all we have booked all four of our guys up every day for the month which has been an achievement. I have been in the office in the afternoons and have been out on a few days to clean AGAs and to cover when the guys have been sick.
This morning I was due to be working in the office but at 0715 we got a call from one of our oven cleaners to say that he had been sick in the night and couldn't work today. As all the guys were booked up it meant I had to go and do his jobs which was four double ovens at different locations including a bit of a drive to Frome in the late afternoon. So straight away I plugged the van in and then I then went to the office and printed off the jobs and then preped by van for the day. So I left home at 0820 to get to my first job on time at 0900, I had a few problems finding the place as the sat nav took me up the road a bit, but still got there on time. The oven was standard double oven and was quite dirty, the lady said they had never cleaned it and it was eight years old. I had a bit of problem cleaning it as I couldn't get the main door off, the locking mechanism wasn't working properly. Whilst doing the job I plugged my van in, it was easy as it was a farm yard, to get my tank up to temperature. The job went well and the lady was very happy. I then drove across Bristol to the second job which was in a rental. The tenants had just moved in and the oven was very bad. It was a bit of hard labour to get it clean as it was minging and it took me over two hours to do the oven and the ceramic hob. But it came up very well. During this job my wife texted me to tell me that the last job in Frome had been moved to next week so that was a relief. I drove back across Bristol to clean the last double oven and this time it was a relatively easy job, an older NEFF double oven where the door was a bit tricky to take apart but other than that it was fine. Then back to the office to clean the van out and top up my water tank. I booked a few jobs in for next week and then that was end of the day.

It has taken me 50 minutes to do the first one. It wasn't that dirty. I cleaned the fan and dipped the back panel though to get the perfect finish. The bulb needed replacing too. The customer told me that the mother in law is coming tomorrow and that last Christmas she had tried to clean the oven as she thought it was dirty. So the oven HAD to be cleaned before she turned up!

I'm out today cleaning ovens. I've been out everyday for a few weeks now. I've got two singles and a double oven plus extractor to clean. I'm really hoping its going be an easy clean day. Last week I had the killer clean seen here in the photos a single oven that was really thick in burnt on carbon. It took me two hours instead of the normal one. It came up well though. All my ovens today are close to home so not a lot of driving.

This weekend we launched Roger Gellion's business at Tamworth Sainsbury's store. We drove up on the Friday afternoon and did a two day launch with him giving up lots of leaflets and making some bookings for him to start his oven cleaning tamworth business. We are getting good at launching oven cleaners now! :-)
So it was a case of getting to the store early to making sure we had our car parking spaces available. Even though we got there on the Saturday at 0800 someone had gone there before us. But we set up the marquee and our stand and we only had to wait a half an hour before the car moved off and we could take the marquee right forward so that it was in the prime position at the front of the store.
On the Sunday the store opened for browsing at 0930 so people could go around the store and chose items but they couldn't pay for them until the store 'opened' at 1000. We got there at 0845 and set up perfectly.
We stayed on both days until 1600 when we packed up. We felt it was too dangerous to continue after it got dark.
So with the interest this created a new oven cleaner tamworth was born!
In all we had lots of interest in our oven cleaning services in Tamworth and surrounding areas. We also had a few AGA cleaning enquiries.
If you are looking to get your oven, range cooker or AGA cooker cleaned in the Tamworth area why not give Roger Gellion a call on : 01827 232222.

Yesterday's day with our new operative. The first oven we cleaned was in a posh cul-de-sac, in Congresbury, and whilst cleaning it one of neighbours knocked on the door and asked if we would give her a quote. I did this and as we had two hours for our first job l told her that we could do it straight away. So I started this one whilst Paul our new guy finished off the second one. So two double ovens in two hours. We were also were asked by another neighbour for a quote - we are going back there today to do that double oven. We then drove to Bristol and we did a job for a letting agent, a Stoves double oven, and then onto another job where we did another Stoves double oven. So very much a double oven day. Today we have another two double ovens and then its back in the office as we've got a meeting.

We have taken on a new employee and this is the second week of training. And today we are cleaning three ovens, or of course I should say, he is cleaning with my supervision. The first one this morning is in Clevedon right next to the sea front and looking at the sky its going to be a very hot fabulous day. The oven is a single Neff and it is a straight forward job we have checked the things to look out for on a Neff like knackered hinges and everything is fine.
I have been doing these Coffee#1 quizes on Facebook.com. See oven cleaning on facebook.
Well I did say that I thought there weren't many Coffee #1 s where an oven cleaner could park outside of but what do you know here is another one that I found yesterday. It's one Ihaven't been to before and it opened in September of last year. And this particular Coffee No 1 really has the wow factor a bit like our oven cleaning ;-). Really for me this coffee shop has given this High Street a real lift -Mary Portas take note.
So which one is it? As I was working in Bristol, or to be more accurate in the Bristol area, yesterday that will give you a clue.

Here is a picture of my van outside a Coffee#1 last week. From my experience of frequenting Coffee Number 1s there aren't many that you can park directly outside of, so I was more than please to find this parking space in this position last week. I was just able to go and get my coffee and panni and yoghurt and sit there in the window seats and read my paper and have a really nice lunch. The question is which one was it? The Coffee Number one that is not the van! :-)
I was in Cardiff last week and attached are the before and afters of the four ovens I cleaned. I cleaned two singles in the morning that were pretty straight forward. Then I had my lunch in Coffee Number 1 (a local coffee shop chain that do great coffee) and then cleaned two standard doubles that were a bit more challenging. And no I didn't finish early and beat the traffic so l didn't get home until six o'clock. So I left at 0800 and got home at 1800 but it is about an hours drive to Cardiff and I did take about 45 minutes for lunch which if the jobs were more local in Bristol I wouldn't have done.
The pictures were taken on my phone so not brilliant quality but you'll get the idea. Four ovens in one day with no particular problems, infact I also did a microwave at job 3. Job 3 was the dirtiest of the jobs and as it was a Creda involved a full strip down. When I get home and look at the pictures I always see a bit that I have missed! But in all the clients were all more than happy with number 3 being very impressed - a good feeling.
